Corbett Harvey was born October 12, 1896, in Rice Virginia the son of Cornelia and Edward Harvey.  In 1913, he was brought  to Manasquan by his brother Frank Harvey Sr. arriving on May 21st.

Corbet first worked with the Van Sickle Company where he learned masonry.  He worked with the Van Sickle Company building roads, buildings, bridges, and highways until 1941 when he went into business for himself as a contractor.  He was also involved with the Shiloh Baptist Church in Manasquan/Brielle area and served as a trustee in the church's Building and Budget Ministry in the 1950s.  He was instrumental in the church's renovation and expansion efforts.
